Grasslands, Timber and Fire. A Symposium
from 14 to 15 October 2009 in Bishopstowe, Pietermaritzburg
The SANBI National Grasslands Programme and the Grassland Society of Southern Africa are proud to host a symposium focusing on improving our understanding of the ecology and management of grasslands, and their related ecosystems, that are associated with timber plantations. A central theme is fire behaviour, fire ecology, and fire management.

1. Advertise in the proceedings
The proceedings will be released after the symposium, and will contain speakers’ talks and formal transcripts of their presentations and any discussions.

All advertising is subject to availability. Cover advertising will be in full colour and internal pages will be in black and white. Prices include VAT.
2. Place an insert in delegates' bags
Fliers, booklets, coupons, business cards, announcements, or samples can be included in delegates’ registration bags at a rate of R 1 000 per item. Inserts must arrive at least three days before the congress.
3. Have a display at the symposium

4. Sponsor the final dinner
A formal dinner will be held after the first day of the symposium. The sponsorship package includes:
- Attendance for two delegates
- Table stand at the symposium
- Insert into registration bags
- A 5 minute address at the final dinner
- Advertising space at the final dinner
The cost to sponsor the dinner is R 30 000.
5. Sponsor another delegate
If you would like to sponsor a delegate (e.g. a student), this can be done at the normal conference rate (R 1 700.00). You may list any criteria that the successful should have (e.g. student, member of a society, previously disadvantaged, etc). Upon payment, the sponsorship will be made available on the website and to applicable institutions. If no successful candidate is found, money less a 20% handling fee will be refunded.
